Therapy provides a structured and collaborative space to understand what is keeping you stuck and to work towards meaningful, sustainable change.
Early sessions focus on developing a shared understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing and the factors that may be maintaining them. Where helpful, we may use visual formulations or diagrams to understand the patterns that are contributing to current difficulties. You will identify goals and areas for change, and these will direct our focus.
Therapy is an active process. Sessions often involve exploring new perspectives, developing practical strategies, and testing out different ways of responding to challenges between sessions. We then review what has been helpful and refine the approach over time. The aim is not simply to gain insight, but to translate that understanding into meaningful change in everyday life.
I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and coaching-informed approaches, adapting the work to your individual needs and goals.
Many clients find it helpful to have a written record of key points discussed in sessions. Where appropriate, session summaries or AI-assisted transcripts can be used to support reflection, memory, and follow-through between appointments.
Sessions are 50 minutes and are typically held weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs.
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation for new enquiries to discuss what you are looking for and how I might be able to assist you.
